What to look for in the BEST Face Mask

As a Fashion Designer let me just tell you that I have quite a few decades of experience working with different types of fabrics. So when you are looking for a non-medical ‘Face Mask’ here are a few things that you need to consider.

First and foremost, it has to be comfortable to wear and easy and safe to breathe through. That would require fabrics like 100% cotton or a cotton-poly blend that make the Face Mask lightweight, comfortable while protecting us from germs and bacteria.

Face Masks that have two layers of fabric protect us more, so that would include an inner liner of 100% cotton with a similar outer shell print fabric for fun and your own personal style.

An elastic that wraps around the back of your neck is much more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time since the elastic does not put pressure on the back of your ears.

When you wear a Face Mask with ear hooks the ears are pulled forward and this will hurt your ears very quickly, as your ears were not designed to bend forward.

You also want to consider a Face Mask that can be easily washed by hand daily and then hung to dry.

If you wear glasses then you want to put your glasses on over the Face Mask bridge of the nose to prevent your glasses from fogging up. This prevents air from escaping from inside the Face Mask and it also provides you with a very fit snug over your nose.
